It was always there, ready to catch a spark, to turn into a real blaze. Maybe the ember that Nerine planted in her filled the hole that was otherwise there.
Whatever happened, Yuzuriha’s heart is now a full-blown blaze. It’s crazy but also wonderful, how she can just take one look at Nerine and just feel the full force of affection: all of her love, her wants, her peace that comes from Nerine being by her side. Physically and emotionally, mentally and spiritually.
And if Yuzuriha had not been accepted, had Nerine spurned her love… The fire would have died out. Maybe Yuzuriha would have died, burned and hollowed out. Thankfully there’s no need to worry about that now. If she clicks her heels three times, Nerine will come. She’ll reignite the ember in Yuzuriha’s heart.
And the fire will never burn out completely, not until the last of their days.
