Short summary: Geis complains as he bandages Adol’s arm.
“You are actually pretty bad at taking care of yourself, huh.”
Geis mused out loud to his companion, a red-headed swordsman infamous for being there when trouble brewed and solving it, much to the chagrin of a certain Empire. But also a man who should have been infamous for being terrible at taking care of himself; was he seriously going to just stand still and wait for his wound to magically heal itself?
Well, Geis wasn’t going to wait. He got his bandages out and started wrapping them around the cuts on Adol’s arm. He also applied some salve to reduce the chance of infection. That would be safer than continuing to traverse recklessly through this area with no obvious safe hideout.
“You can’t always depend on your speed or your ability to just…”
Geis shook his head. Adol was just smiling back at him, like this was a pleasurable activity. Like he was just so happy to be treated by Geis.
“I can’t just always…”
But no words that Geis could say would sway that smile.
“Oh, fine. It would be worse if I just let you be. You damn brat.”
No insult would affect that smile. No affection would change it either. Geis sighed to himself. Why was he so weak to this idiot? Why did he just follow along to Adol’s pace?
Geis didn’t want to think about it too hard. Because that would mean he was an idiot too, doing things not worth the effort especially for a mercenary.
(But the kiss he received after bandaging Adol’s arm properly… That couldn’t be the simple explanation, right?)
