Short summary: Right now the azure moon is still half full. Arnice lets out a deep breath. But she can’t fully relax.
Moonlight streams into the bedroom through the open window, illuminating the sleeping pink-haired woman curled up on the bed, facing where Arnice was resting, before Arnice had slipped out of the bed and moved to the window to take a better look at the moon…the moons… The real moon glows white, reflecting the rays of the sun. The azure moon…
Right now the azure moon is still half full. Arnice lets out a deep breath. But she can’t fully relax.
Because even if there is time, it is limited time. Arnice can’t fool around if she truly wants to protect Lilysse. She has to go out every night and search, has to make Lilysse stay here and worry. She has to leave Lilysse behind for there to even be a chance for them in the future. She has to believe in this chance, or else…
Arnice turns her gaze away from the azure moon back towards the bed, back towards the sleeping form of her beloved. If…Eternal Night were to fall, would her beloved Lilysse remain asleep like this for eternity? Sometimes, when Arnice thinks about how the Curia wants to…instead…she wonders, for the briefest moment, if this would be better. But she knows Lilysse wouldn’t allow it, let alone the Curia. So Arnice resolves to fight her own way, to find her solution…
(Three, four more days before the azure moon waxes completely? I better explore farther in the museum tomorrow.)
She lays back down on the bed. She’s still restless but she knows she needs to sleep. It will only worry Lilysse more if she shows up with tired eyes. So she forces her eyes to close, and with that the azure moon disappears from sight.
It disappears safely into the darkness…for now…
