Yuuki is half-smiling, half-sighing as he watches Tomo run around the track. It’s late at night and no one else is around, because Tomo’s work as the chairman came first and thus this is Tomo’s private practice session. Yuuki is here to record times as well as support his boyfriend.
The fact that Tomo is great at running, incredibly smart, and incredibly dedicated to his work as the chairman is still sometimes hard to believe, when Yuuki is used to the Tomo who likes to be lazy and to skip anything hard. Well, it still feels weird that Tomo is chairman, except when Yuuki visits Tomo’s office and sees that incredibly cool and mature look on Tomo’s face. Tomo is such a wunderkind except with the one flaw of being bad at depending on others. Until now, at least.
Yuuki is proud to be one of the people that Tomo depends on. He’s also happy that Tomo’s learned to depend on a few more people besides the specter of his older brother. Even if in exchange Sakaki forces Tomo to finish his exams for the sake of testing his knowledge (they have agreed that Tomo can stay in the regular class even though he could easily be in the ultimate class), and Itou makes sure Tomo doesn’t spend too many hours hiding in the infirmary (because when Yuuki tried to get Tomo to leave that one time, it led to Yuuki skipping class as well…).
Yuuki is also incredibly lucky to be Tomo’s lover. Well, he has always had confidence in his luck, but the way that Tomo makes him feel sometimes… Even if it is embarrassing sometimes when a memory pops into his head at an inconvenient moment, Yuuki doesn’t hate anything they have done together as lovers. Kisses shared behind a curtain, behind a closed door, against the wall, on that sofa, under the bedsheets…
“Yuuki?”
“Huh?” Yuuki doesn’t expect Tomo’s face to be so close. Wait, that means… “Oh! I forgot to stop the timer…”
Tomo doesn’t let Yuuki look away, though, lifting Yuuki’s chin up with his index finger. “What were you thinking about just now?”
Yuuki can feel his cheeks heat up. “Nothing.”
Tomo grins. “Hmm, I think you were definitely thinking about something.” He moves in closer, his mouth only centimeters away from Yuuki’s. “63 seconds.”
“63 sec-“
But before Yuuki can finish speaking, Tomo closes the distance, sealing his mouth over Yuuki’s. The kiss is deep and long, continuing on until Yuuki starts to feel dizzy. He finds himself gasping for air when Tomo finally breaks the kiss. Is this what the 63 seconds meant?
“That’s how long it took me to run the last 400 meters, right?”
“Huh?”
Tomo smirks at Yuuki’s confused expression. “Or were you hoping something else was 63 seconds?”
“Tomo!”
Tomo laughs as he takes Yuuki’s hand and leads them back to the dorms. Yuuki is red-faced but he squeezes Tomo’s hand back. 63 seconds… Yuuki needs to remember to write that down before he forgets, but… Tomo’s warmth, and his wonderful smile…
(Tomo ends up being the only one who remembers, and he reminds Yuuki when he kisses Yuuki for said amount of time the next morning...)
