Becoming girlfriends isn’t that much different than before. Well, before the awkward period of “oh no I like her a lot but maybe she doesn’t like me in the same way” that they just resolved. When they were merely “best friends”.
They go shopping together, they stop by the cafes to get treats together, they walk around the park and the streets together. They still work together, whether on stage or on the battlefield or everywhere in between.
The only real difference is that, well, maybe they hold hands a bit more now. Maybe Sakura doesn’t hesitate to plant a kiss on Hatsuho’s cheek. Maybe Hatusho doesn’t hesitate to wrap an arm around Sakura’s shoulders when turning them around in a busy or crowded area. And…
They don’t hesitate to tell each other how much they love each other, how much they care. It’s because Sakura almost lost it all, including Hatsuho, that fateful day. She’s not going to ever let something go; she’s going to hold onto it tight. And Hatsuho may have let her chance slip away that day, but she wasn’t going to let her second chance be another miss.
Okay, there’s quite a difference in how they act now versus when they were just “best friends”. But the basis of their relationship has and always will be their friendship that, no matter what arguments they have had, no matter what difficulties they have faced, has only bent but never broken. Their friendship has been and will always be strong. So hopefully their romance will be too.
