Rating: G

Relationship: Hiiragi Asuka/Kurashiki Shiori
Wordcount: 400
Short summary: Asuka and Shiori muse on their first and current thoughts of each other.

With her short neat brown hair and relatively modest manner, Asuka hadn’t noticed Shiori much at first. But as Asuka tried to learn more about Kou, it was inevitable that she would become interested in Shiori too. Unraveling the truth to why Kou of all people seemed central to this phenomenon unfolding led to wondering why Shiori was involved too. Someone who, as far as Asuka could tell, was just a typical sweet and kind girl, with no soul device, with no reason to be targeted by Greeds?

Except Shiori was not typical at all. Shiori’s wish to stay with Kou was so strong it changed the world. And while sorting out the mysteries of Morimiya meant having to fight a Shiori who was entangled with the Twilight Apostle, Asuka doesn’t think Shiori did anything wrong. In fact, Shiori changed the world around her for the better. For every person who met Shiori, who truly interacted with her, Shiori was part of the good parts of life.

Asuka will be forever thankful that she met Shiori. Not because Shiori’s her wonderful and amazing girlfriend, but because Shiori has taught Asuka the true meaning of will, the true meaning of love.

With long straight light brown hair and blue eyes, as well as being the class representative, it’s not like Shiori hadn’t noticed Asuka before. But when Kou started to interact with Asuka more, Shiori’s interest in Asuka grew and so did the questions. Who was this transfer student after all? Why did she seem so guarded, even when she laughed and smiled with the others? But she dropped some of that guard down around Kou?

Shiori would say at first she analyzed Asuka purely as Kou’s best friend. But behind the cool aura was not just strength and stoicism. There was a fighter, a protector… As she kept watching, as she kept listening, Shiori could see how much Asuka cared for Kou, for the others in the X.R.C. Even if she didn’t understand the burden Asuka was carrying, Shiori wanted to trust Asuka. She did trust Asuka. And in return, Asuka saved her, twice.

Shiori’s first love may have been Kou, but her last love might be Asuka. No matter where life takes them, Shiori will nevertheless be thankful that she and Asuka could meet. Because Asuka has shown Shiori the true meaning of belief, the true meaning of life.
