Title: another long night
Rating: G
Fandom: Flowers
Relationship: Kohsaka Mayuri/Shirohane Suoh
Wordcount: 250
Short summary: Suoh can’t sleep as she remembers Mayuri’s words…
The moon is bright tonight, which Suoh knows only because her eyes are open right now. This is turning out to be another long night where Suoh can’t sleep. Because she can’t stop repeating the words Mayuri had said earlier, in that tone…
Suoh shifts her body left, right. Closes her eyes, takes deep breaths, sighs.
What can Suoh do besides sigh? Every step forward makes Suoh feel more desperate than accomplished. The more clues she gathers, the more she knows that clues are still out there to be found. Suoh has to find them; she would even steal and gamble to obtain them.
When did she become so greedy? When she experienced love, only to have it ripped away?
Hearing Mayuri’s voice wasn’t enough. No matter what Mayuri said, even if it was to push Suoh away…
I want to see you…
Suoh will only accept that they cannot ever be together if she sees Mayuri, sees and hears Mayuri say those words to her face directly. The bit she knows of Mayuri’s past is enough for Suoh not to trust words said behind a wall so blindly. Mayuri has been in pain for so long. When they kissed that night… They had soothed each other’s pain for a moment. But scars take a long time to heal, especially if they get picked at again…
Suoh should maybe accept that their fleeting relationship is another scar that time has to heal. But time is passing ever so slowly tonight…
