“Can you drive any faster?”
Yosemite wants to shout, to pull her hair out. How many hours have passed and how are they still not in range of… Yosemite sighs for the hundredth time. If Yosemite was a nailbiter, she’d likely have none of them left.
“I’m already at top speed!” Yellowstone yells, gripping the steering wheel tighter. “If you actually drove this car you would know that.”
“Still!”
“Yosemite, please.”
Zion’s firm voice makes Yosemite’s frenzy cool. Yosemite takes a deep breath. “…I’m sorry.”
Yellowstone sighs. “Can you at least hold it in for a while? We all are…”
“I’m sorry.”
Yosemite knows she’s hotheaded and speaks her mind too much. Eve, who matched Yosemite word for word, finally got Yosemite to understand how destructive that could be. In between all those moments had inspired so much anger, so much annoyance, so much frustration… There was also so much love.
Yosemite is here because Eve showed her what it means to truly love someone. She doesn’t know if Eve’s feelings are the same, and a part of her will be incredibly embarrassed if Eve’s feelings are not mutual, but even so…
I want to heal you, because you healed me.
“It’s okay. We know just how much you want to see Eve. And we will find her.”
“You’re right.”
There’s nothing else to do but have faith. Even if Eve isn’t waiting for Yosemite, Yosemite will not give up. This battle is one she is not willing to lose.
