Short summary: Erika wonders but doesn't ask why Suoh runs for president.

While the most common sight in the library was Suoh sitting behind the desk with a book in her hands, it was not an unusual sight to see Suoh with a piece of paper and a pen, words being written and crossed out and written again. It was more unusual to hear Suoh muttering to herself as she worked out the phrasing, since it required she be so completely absorbed in her task of fixing a script that she didn't notice a visitor.

For Erika, she had her suspicions about why this script sounded rather like a speech instead of a story, but she was not brave enough to ask. "Why are you running?" was a question she was sure Suoh expected to get upon announcing her bid to become the next president of the Council of Nicaea, so Erika didn't ask it. Suoh was working hard but it didn't seem to be a distraction from her depression; rather, Suoh seemed more animated than ever. Did it have to do with Mayuri? Suoh's energy matched the idea, and Erika knew well that Yuzuriha, as the current president, had certain information that others did not. Secrets that probably should stay secrets.

So in deference to her bookworm buddy, Erika decided not to ask Suoh outright. Besides, there was a lot of other stuff to be sleuthing about, like whatever was going on between Yuzuriha and Ringo and Nerine, and whatever was catching Chidori's attention. In time, things would become clearer…?

(Months later, when the truth behind the events of last spring and all the happenings since then come to light, Erika regretted not asking Suoh about her campaign earlier. Although, thankfully, everything worked out for Suoh and Mayuri in the end…)
