Dimitri couldn’t stop watching Claude’s eyes. They were an emerald green that sparkled in the sunlight, in the moonlight, in the candlelight, and especially when Claude’s face was close to Dimitri’s. Dimitri felt himself instinctively shiver when those green eyes were close and shined the way they did. It usually meant that Claude was about to surprise him. Most of them were wonderful, though a little embarrassing, like when Claude leaned in close and snuck a quick kiss but also slapped his ass. Dimitri’s yelp would catch everyone’s attention along with his reddened face, and everyone would be treated to Dimitri growling Claude’s name as Claude skipped off, laughing.
Dimitri couldn’t stop watching Claude’s hands. They were so small, with slim fingers and delicately manicured fingertips…well, at least compared to his own. When he held Claude’s hands, Dimitri always worried that he might crush them, but when their fingers interlocked, Claude always squeezed back tightly. Even if those hands were smaller than Dimitri’s, they were calloused and they were strong. But they were also loving and gentle, and a little ticklish when they found Dimitri’s one weak spot. Claude took advantage of that too often.
Dimitri couldn’t stop watching Claude’s lips. They were thin and just a bit pink, and curved in many ways as Claude spoke, as Claude grinned, as Claude smirked, as Claude licked them with his tongue. Right now Claude’s tongue traced over a little bit of the chapping and the puffiness, the proof that Dimitri once again had thoroughly kissed Claude awake this morning. Their romantic relationship was something that everyone knew about at this point but Dimitri didn’t mind. He wanted everyone to know that Claude was his.
Dimitri watched Claude with warmth, with love. Even if Claude usually was the one teasing him and causing him to blush, Dimitri knew how to take care of Claude too. Those eyes, those hands, those lips…they loved Dimitri. They only wanted Dimitri. This knowledge kept Dimitri going even when they had to spend many days apart due to their positions and goals in their life, when Dimitri stayed in Faerghus while Claude went back to Almyra…during the times when they only saw each other once a year.
But today…tonight…their future...these rings on their hands that they exchanged just hours before… They would now be together forever more. Dimitri wouldn’t ever have to stop looking at Claude, and he wouldn’t have it any other way.
