Short summary: Kou and Shio make their first shrine visit of the year together.
Despite how difficult it is to wake up for that 6:30 AM alarm, the first of the year brings Kou and Shio to Kokonoe Shrine just after sunrise. After breakfast they will separate: Kou staying at the shrine while Shio moves to the orphanage.
But here, now, in the quiet before the bustle, Kou takes Shio’s hands in his own. “What did you wish for?” he whispers.
Shio smiles gently. “Good health, good fortune, and…”
“And?” Kou’s heartbeat skips in anticipation.
“More time to spend with you.” For the kiss that follows Shio’s words.
And that he reciprocates in turn.
