“There she is again,” Fiora sighs when she enters Melia’s room and finds the High Entia Queen not where she should be at this time of night. And certainly not where she should be sleeping.
And as Melia’s proper keeper, Fiora is going to remedy this right away. She quietly approaches the sleeping woman, squats slightly, slides her arms to brace Melia’s body, brings it up to her chest, stands up and… Oh, that’s a bit… Well, it’s good that Melia is still a healthy weight, even if she’s…a bit harder to carry now. Okay, it’s times like this when Fiora misses her mechanical body. To her mechanical body, every Homs or High Entia or Nopon was as light as a feather. To her Homs body, well… A High Entia feels heavier than a Homs of the same size, deceptively so. But there are many benefits to being back in her Homs body. It is much, much easier to cuddle up to Melia in this form. It is much, much easier to feel Melia’s light touch when Melia’s fingers dance over Fiora’s skin. It is much, much easier to be carried by Melia in turn, although Fiora does not have the habit of falling asleep at a desk with paperwork. She’s more the…napping under the tree type.
“Fiora?” Melia murmurs half-asleep, clinging onto Fiora’s shirt.
“I got you, don’t worry,” Fiora whispers back. She wills herself to hold Melia a bit higher, so Melia feels more secure. As if Fiora would drop Melia… She would cushion any fall for sure. Because Melia should be protected. Even if Melia is strong, Fiora wants to keep her safe from any harm.
“You’ll stay too?”
“Yes.”
Fiora gently lays Melia down on the left side of the bed. She slides the blankets from underneath Melia’s body and then over it. Then she moves to the other side of the bed and tucks herself in.
“That’s why I came,” she adds, wrapping her arms around Melia’s waist. She tucks her head underneath Melia’s chin, breathes in Melia’s floral scents, nuzzles her face into Melia’s chest.
“Thank you.” And Melia too wraps her arms around Fiora.
It doesn’t take long for Melia to fall asleep, or rather fall back asleep. It takes Fiora more time, but she doesn’t mind the slow descent, enjoying the peaceful moment before sleep. Enjoying this moment to the fullest with her Queen and her love.
“I’ll always be here for you, Melia.”
