It’s a push and pull between them or a run and chase. Anita doesn’t know what she’s saying when Viktor, of all people, asks what’s going on between her and Valeria. As if Anita doesn’t see a man who acts obliviously towards his own relationships right there.
Then again, they are all drunk. Viktor is probably annoying them because Flik is off being serious. He won’t get between her and Valeria, though. It’s only when Anita and Valeria are both drunk that Valeria lets Anita lean on her shoulder and Anita dares to do so.
Because she’s not weak. She’s Valeria’s rival, her one and only true rival. If Anita loses once, she doesn’t accept it as complete. She’ll never let a loss stand unchallenged.
“After you spend three years drinking and sleeping your way around.”
When Valeria speaks up, it surprises Anita. It’s a mixture of complaining and disappointment? “Were you…waiting for me then?”
“As if.”
Viktor laughs loudly. “Oh, I know that reaction! Don’t be so coy.” He stands up. “And speaking of… I’ll leave you two to enjoy yourselves. Good night!”
For a big man, Viktor is sure quick to make an exit when the time is right. Anita appreciates that as she leans in to kiss Valeria’s neck. Oh, she won’t be coy now…
