“Katarina, are you ready for…”
Kris stops speaking as soon as she notices the quietness of the room. The lack of pen-scratching, page-turning, low melodic humming. The room feels a bit cold without the person at the desk, writing and copying notes while lost in some half-written melody. But it’s not completely devoid of presence or warmth.
The source just happens to be lying on the bed instead, eyes closed, body curled up. Asleep.
“Katarina…”
Kris doesn’t have the heart to wake up Katarina when she looks so peaceful like this, but if Katarina is to continue to sleep, she should at least be covered with a blanket, right? Kris searches the closets for a spare blanket large enough for two. Because Kris is going to lie down next to Katarina as she always is want to do at night.
Because she loves Katarina, so she wants her close. Because she loves Katarina, so she wants her safe. Because she loves Katarina, so she wants Katarina to be happy too.
Due to their duties to King Marth, to their comrades, to their country, so the daytime is spent apart most times. But nighttime is their protected time. Even if they just sleep next to each other in the same space… Kris treasures this, now and forevermore.
