Short summary: Lyria keeps asking Aria to act her part in that old play. Aria finally figures out why.
“Come on, just for a little bit?”
“Right now?”
Every once in a while, Lyria would ask Aria to act her part in the “play”. For the longest time Aria doesn’t understand Lyria’s obsession with her old school play when they are so far away from that school in the human world and Aria hadn’t even been a leading role in it. It’s only when she talks to Melody about it that she gets some bits of clarity. It seems that Lyria’s obsession with fashion had leaked over even to Melody, even if Melody is just a friend and nothing more, and the play was an easy excuse to see Aria in different outfits when she had been so reluctant to Lyria’s suggestions before.
But that reason doesn’t explain everything. Aria has already received so many presents from Lyria, jewelry and hair accessories, and worn so many different dresses for Lyria for the various events. Honestly they have all been much more interesting in Aria’s opinion than some ratty costumes from her old school. But what is the other reason?
“I wanna see you… I wanna hear you say…”
“Huh?”
This is the first time Lyria’s said something different and it catches Aria off-guard. Aria supposes she’s usually outright refused or questioned Lyria’s intentions right away, which probably led Lyria to retract her request. But to want to hear Aria say… Perhaps it has to be the play because there was that…those scenes in it?
“But don’t I already tell you I love you?” Aria thinks out loud. She definitely remembers telling Lyria that last night, when Lyria had…
“Only after I make love to you,” Lyria says, finishing Aria’s thought, pouting.
Oh. Aria supposes that’s true. She’s just not as good as Lyria at declaring her feelings so openly, and she knows Lyria understands that fundamentally, but… Maybe she thinks Aria would be able to say it more freely if she was acting like in that play?
“You don’t have to ask in such a roundabout way,” Aria says with a sigh, but she’s smiling fondly. “I love you, Lyria. I love you so much.”
Lyria tackles Aria, hugs Aria tightly. “I love you too Aria!”
They embrace for a while, basking in each other’s warmth. But eventually Lyria pulls back. Aria looks up to see a sly grin. That definitely spells trouble for Aria, but…
“So you’ll say those lines for me in that outfit, right?”
“Huh?”
Aria nods before she realizes…oh no…she’s fallen for Lyria’s play…
